Abu Muhammad Hasan Atroosh, known as Nasir al-Haq and Nasir Kabir, was one of the jurists, theologians, scholars, rulers, and capable poets of the third century AH. Sheikh Tusi included him among the companions of Imam Hadi. He was the ruler of Tabaristan and because he was deafened by a sword strike from Rafi ibn Harthama in battle, he was called Atroosh.
He is also the maternal grandfather of Sayyid Razi and Sharif Murtaza, and his mother was a slave woman from Khorasan. He is mentioned as the first promoter of Islam in the northern lands of Iran.
