Tabriz Bazaar is another attraction of Tabriz and one of the other sights of East Azerbaijan, whose name appears on the UNESCO World Heritage list. This historic bazaar is located in the heart of Tabriz city and is surrounded by the Jameh Mosque of Tabriz, the Ali Qapu Mansion, and the city's Chay Square. Tabriz Bazaar has traditional architecture specific to cold regions and is built covered and with bricks. This bazaar is the most famous traditional bazaar in Iran.
In the past, besides shops and stores, schools, public baths, mosques, and caravanserais also operated in Tabriz Bazaar. Today, most of the products available in Tabriz Bazaar include hand-woven carpets, clothing, leather bags and shoes, fabrics, and herbal and medicinal products. Overall, the shops in this bazaar have preserved their traditional character and sell authentic Azerbaijani products. This bazaar is considered the most important gathering place for the residents of Tabriz city during religious ceremonies and celebrations.
