From the tomb of Saadi, the eloquent poet of Shiraz, if we move 700 meters away, the oldest garden of Shiraz, Delgosha Garden, is located in front of us. This 6-hectare garden has witnessed many ups and downs throughout history.
Delgosha Garden is situated opposite a hill called Kohan Dezh, where remains and relics from the Sassanid era have been found. For this reason, some experts attribute the garden's age to the Sassanid period. Historical sources mention Delgosha Garden during the Timurid, Zand, Afsharid, and Qajar periods, and finally, after the last residence of the Qajar descendants, the fate of the garden was entrusted to the municipality and today it has been restored for public visits.
The three-story Kolah Farangi building is dedicated to displaying historical objects such as coins, clothing, and radios.
Delgosha Garden is known for its bitter orange blossoms; 3000 bitter orange trees in this garden bloom from late Farvardin to mid Ordibehesht, and their delightful fragrance fills all the surrounding streets.
National registration: Delgosha Garden was registered on 29 September 2002 with number 912 in the list of Iran's national heritage.
