The Khorasan Railway Garden Museum, as the first railway museum in the country, is located in the city of Mashhad and is a unique destination for enthusiasts of the history of the transportation industry. This museum, which began its activities in late 2017, includes two exhibition halls and a beautiful garden museum that houses a valuable collection of technical parts related to railways, historical equipment of railway officers, and various old and modern locomotives.
One of the fascinating sections of this museum is the display of Iran's first steam locomotives, which played an important role during World War II in transporting Allied soldiers from the south of the country towards the Soviet Union.
The history of railways in Iran dates back to the era of Naser al-Din Shah Qajar, around the year 1270 AH.
