Radkan Tower Chenaran Mashhad

It is one of the most beautiful historical buildings in this city, listed among the tourist attractions of Mashhad. The exact date of construction of this tower is unknown; however, many believe it was built in the seventh century during the Ilkhanate period. The Radkan Tower of Chenaran is designed in a cylindrical shape with a conical dome on top. It should be added that from the ground level up to 3 meters high, the tower has a dodecagonal design, and its interior is constructed in an octagonal shape.

The height of the Radkan Tower of Chenaran, including its dome, reaches 36 meters, which is a respectable figure compared to other structures of that time. The internal and external diameters of the structure are 14 and 20 meters, respectively. However, the part that may attract your attention more than any other element is the cylindrical body, which has 36 half-columns on it. These half-columns give a special beauty to the structure and have made Radkan Tower known as one of the most beautiful tourist attractions in Mashhad.
