Buildings similar to the Ala al-Dowleh Tower are often seen in cities other than Iran. This type of construction, known as Seljuk style, was usually used for buildings with religious purposes; however, the Ala al-Dowleh Tower, unlike similar examples, did not have a religious aspect. This building was constructed similar to royal tombs and mausoleums to prevent the destruction of the corpse. Usually, in this type of building, the body is kept in a crypt and not buried. In fact, it is as if by building this structure, a natural cold storage was created. It is a 17-meter tower made of brick and decorated with brickwork art. Creating a beautiful facade for the Ala al-Dowleh Tower using only bricks is not an easy task! Especially if you are working with the facilities of ancient times. This tower was built during the Ilkhanid period in the city of Varamin.
