Shiraz, the bride of the southern cities of Iran, is built and expanded in the middle of a vast plain and surrounded by mountains. Shiraz has several entrances, and on the way to one of its entrances, the road that connects Isfahan to Marvdasht and Firuzabad, there is a gate called Quran Gate. This gate is built between Baba Koohi and Chehel Maqam mountains and on a gorge called Allah Akbar Gorge. It is named after the Quran that is above it; in the past, it was also called Taq Quran. This monument was registered in the National Heritage List in 1996 with the number 1800. Quran Gate is one of the most popular places in Shiraz for recreation and entertainment. Here you can enjoy activities such as photography, picnics, and cafe and restaurant tours around Quran Gate, or visit at night and immerse yourself in the nighttime beauty of the gate with its colorful lighting.
