One of the most spectacular natural attractions of Jarqavieh County is the Khara Salt Marsh. This lake is a remnant of a lake in eastern Jarqavieh and is considered the largest salt mine in Iran, with several tons of salt extracted annually. This salt-covered lake is very shallow due to the dryness of the Zayandeh River. In spring and summer, with sunlight and water evaporation, an amazing scene of geometric shapes formed by salt deposits on the lake surface appears, which is unique and spectacular.
