Description

The Sarab Grand Mosque is one of the important historical buildings of this city, dating back to the 9th century AH. Interestingly, unlike most Iranian mosques, this mosque has no minarets or towers. It has a small courtyard and a large prayer hall. Special features of this building include pointed arches and round domes, which actually reflect the architectural design style of the Gurkani and Aq Qoyunlu Turkmen eras. Next to the eastern door of this mosque, there is also a marble inscription dating back to the year 875 AH.
