Description

The construction of the Ashtargan Grand Mosque dates back 700 years. The mosque's architecture belongs to the Ilkhanid period and is among the national heritage sites. There are two entrances to the mosque, one on the north side and the other on the southeast side. Next to the northern door of the mosque, there are two minarets that functioned similarly to the swinging minarets of Isfahan, but over time and due to building damage, this feature has almost disappeared. The night prayer hall's facade of this mosque is made of raw bricks, and inside the dome, stone inscriptions in Kufic script can be seen.
