Bibi Shahrbanu Tomb
Bibi Shahrbanu was the wife of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him). Many stories about her are mentioned in various books, most of which have no historical basis. However, what is certain is that the Bibi Shahrbanu tomb is one of the favorite pilgrimage sites for Tehranis in the heart of the mountain.
Archaeologists believe that the Bibi Shahrbanu tomb was built during the Sassanid era and is much older than the Islamic period. Therefore, another story about this shrine suggests that Bibi Shahrbanu was actually Anahita, the ancient water goddess, and this tomb belonged to one of the attendants of the sanctuary. In any case, whatever the original story is, many Tehranis are willing to venture into the mountains on a holiday to find the Bibi Shahrbanu tomb.
