Hassanabad Square is one of Tehran's sights that you must see at sunset, and you should walk so much around the square and buildings until it gets dark and the lighting of the square and the surrounding buildings turns on. When you see the square under the night’s veil and the colorful lights of the buildings are lit, you feel like you are no longer in today's Tehran. You feel as if you have stepped into 1980s Paris and expect to hear unfamiliar French voices instead of Persian-speaking passersby. The buildings around the square were built in 1930 and because of their structure and especially their architecture, the square was named the Eight Dome Square. This is the same building that you still encounter today when you go to Hassanabad Square in Tehran. Between 2011 and 2016, the stones of this building were restored and cleaned. The shops around the square have been preserved in the same form for generations and are mostly dedicated to tool selling.
