Akhangan Tower Mashhad

Akhangan Tower is a historic tomb located 32 kilometers from Mashhad, dating back 600 years. No inscriptions or engravings are visible inside this historic tower, and the identity of those buried here remains unclear. It is a historic tomb with unique architecture dating back to the 9th century Hijri. There are many speculations about the identity of the person buried here; however, no specific evidence is available to confirm or deny these claims. Some believe that the wife of Shahrukh Timuri (Gohar Taj) is buried here and consider the paintings on the tower as proof. Interestingly, the Cultural Heritage Organization also supports this hypothesis.

Akhangan Tower was registered on June 10, 1942, with registration number 341 in the list of national monuments of Iran and is considered one of the country's important structures.
