Description

Band Amir is the name of a historic bridge in a village of the same name that overlooks the famous Kar River. The band was built during the Daylamite period and is named after Amir Adud al-Dawla Daylami (the greatest Amir of the Buyid dynasty in Iran and Iraq). It is located at the end of the plain and the vast Marvdasht plain. The length of this bridge reaches 120 meters and its width is 5 meters. Apparently, this bridge was in good condition until the 11th century, but after those years, attention to it gradually decreased and it fell into disrepair. During the Pahlavi era, a large part of the sixth arch of the bridge collapsed, but in 1970 initial repairs began on this bridge and restorations have continued to this day.
