It is the oldest Chahar Taqi in Iran, listed among the tourist attractions of Mashhad. The exact date of construction of this building is still unknown, but it is believed to have been built during the Sassanid or Parthian eras. Reliable information about the exact use of the Chahar Taqi of Baze Hoor is not available; however, researchers believe that its main function was as a fire temple. This stone building was registered in 1931 on the list of national monuments of Iran with registration number 39.
The Chahar Taqi of Baze Hoor has four stone pillars, one arch, and four entrances aligned with the cardinal directions, and its design is not much different from other Chahar Taqis in Iran. At the top of the building, you can see a beautiful stone dome, which we consider the most beautiful part of this complex. If you pay attention to different parts of this Chahar Taqi, you can observe authentic Sassanid architectural features—a style of architecture that is now obsolete.
This stone building holds the title of the oldest Chahar Taqi in Iran, and its dome is also recognized as the oldest dome in the world. This has made the Chahar Taqi of Baze Hoor one of the most important and valuable tourist attractions in Mashhad, making a visit highly worthwhile. Get the exact location.
