Municipality Palace: Saint Petersburg Mansion of Rasht
This building is the Municipality Palace or the Municipality Mansion. This mansion was designed by an Armenian-German architect inspired by the architecture of buildings in Saint Petersburg, Russia, and this palace was inaugurated in 1926.
This mansion is actually an example of the proverb "Smoke rises from a tall log," because despite its age, reaching 100 years, it is still considered one of the most famous tourist attractions in Rasht. This palace is 24 meters tall and, although it is old, it still stands firm.
Municipality Palace Clock Tower
The Municipality Square complex was completed over 16 years. One of the first places added to this square was the clock tower. Three years after the construction of the Municipality Mansion, the city clock tower was also added. The clock tower bells ring 24 times a day, corresponding to the hour. This tower is also one of the popular symbols among the tourist attractions of Rasht.
Iran Hotel
In 1929, Iran Hotel was handed over to designers. This hotel is located north of the Municipality Square and was opened 6 years later, in 1935. Iran Hotel was registered on the National Heritage List of Iran in 2000. This old hotel is also among the tourist attractions of Rasht, preserving its unique architecture.
