Description

Yaqoot Palace is one of the tourist attractions of Tehran

Yaqoot Palace, or Sorkheh Hesar Palace, is one of Tehran's tourist attractions, built in 1883 in Sorkheh Hesar. This palace belonged to Naser al-Din Shah and has nearly 200 rooms. The columns surrounding this building, along with its continuous balconies, give this old building a magnificent appearance that attracts every viewer.

One of the most interesting points about this palace is that its building is located within the grounds of the Lavasani Specialized Heart Hospital and these days it is used as the hospital's administrative building. Currently, the Yaqoot Palace building is under restoration, and District 13 Municipality has promised to soon convert it into a museum and make it accessible to the public.
