Chehel Sotoun Palace is one of Isfahan's recreational centers, built during the Safavid era by order of Shah Abbas I and completed during the reign of Shah Abbas II. It is an enclosed garden measuring 225 meters by 275 meters, with a large mansion and pool in the middle. It is registered on the national heritage list and is also part of the UNESCO World Heritage.
Chehel Sotoun Palace in Isfahan has only 20 wooden columns. The reason for this name is the reflection of the mansion's exterior in the pool water, which makes the number of columns appear doubled. The reflection of the pavilion in the water during day and night is an experience not to be missed. The interior architecture of the mansion, like the exterior space of the palace, is renowned. In the main hall of Chehel Sotoun Palace, six important paintings are displayed, painted with natural colors depicting significant historical events of that era.
Also, a part of this palace is considered a museum where books and manuscripts from the Safavid era, calligraphy and miniature paintings, and important objects from old Isfahan are preserved, completing the visit experience of this tourist attraction in Isfahan for everyone.
