Description

The Izadkhast Caravanserai in Abadeh was one of the caravanserais built during the reign of Shah Abbas by his order. This caravanserai was constructed on a land area of four thousand square meters.

There is a Thuluth script inscription on the caravanserai's portal. In the four corners of its courtyard, one can find historical tombstones with carvings on them. The rooms of this caravanserai are located on its northern, eastern, and southern sides. The main hall is on the western side, surrounded by several rooms and halls. From 1945 to 1971, this caravanserai was used as a gendarmerie. In 2023, the Izadkhast Caravanserai, along with 53 other caravanserais, was registered on the World Heritage List under the title of Iranian Caravanserais.

The Noor Bakhsh watchtower, the historic caravanserai bridge, the Izadkhast castle, and the adobe structures all are located in one place.
