The Dagh Sorkh Desert, approximately 50 kilometers long and 20 kilometers wide, is located northeast of the city of Zavareh, separated from the central desert of Iran by low mountains alongside tamarisk forests. One of the attractions of this desert is a large sand dune almost in the center of the desert, which is the nest of the region's eagles and is known among desert travelers as the Eagle's Nest. This desert is considered one of the sights of Zavareh and contains salt, gold, lead mines, and possibly oil.
