Cradle of Sight or Gonbad Ozod is a watchtower built during the reign of Ozod al-Dowleh Daylami to control the entrance gate of the city of Shiraz. This structure has the form of a chahartaqi and has a doorway on each side. The material of this structure is sarooj, and apart from the 3.5-meter conical dome on top, it has a height of 3 meters. This tower, besides city surveillance, was a place for lighting fires to signal, reflecting light with mirrors, and announcing important news with horns and trumpets. The Cradle of Sight is located to the left of the northernmost point of Shiraz, Tang Allah Akbar, and in the heights of Koohpayeh Park, allowing you to easily watch the view of Shiraz, this historic and beautiful city, from above.
There is also a martyrs' memorial around this historic structure.
