Lonak Waterfall is one of the spectacular natural attractions of Gilan Province.
Lonak consists of two waterfalls and is located in the Lonak forest; a beautiful waterfall with a width estimated at 20 meters and a height of about 6 meters. In the spring and autumn seasons, when the water flow reaches its maximum, these two waterfalls merge and create a magnificent natural attraction. Around the waterfall, you will also witness a charming landscape with flowers and trees such as poplar, fig, beech, and hornbeam. This waterfall eventually flows into the Shamerud River of Siahkal, which originates from the heights of Deylaman. The beauty of this waterfall makes it a suitable location for young couples to capture memories; brides and grooms come to this waterfall on their wedding day to take special photos. After visiting this waterfall, you can also visit the beautiful village of Damasch, famous for its lilies; the name of the lily is registered in the list of natural and national monuments of Iran.
Picnic: In various corners of this forested area, you can set up your picnic and enjoy pleasant hours with your friends or family. So, if you are a picnic lover, don’t forget to bring the necessary equipment and supplies.
