The tomb of Seyyed Ruhollah Khomeini, or the revered Imam's shrine, the founder of the Islamic Republic, is one of the most important and magnificent pilgrimage sites in Tehran, featuring extraordinarily magnificent architecture.
In addition to the Imam's anniversary, many other religious occasions are held there, attracting numerous pilgrims and visitors daily and annually for both pilgrimage and tourism.
Not only Imam Khomeini, but also others such as his wife, son, son-in-law, and even the late Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani are buried in this place. During holidays and summer, even religious people from abroad come to visit this shrine.
