Description

The tomb of Kamal al-Molk, undoubtedly one of the greatest Iranian painters and one of the most interesting tourist attractions in Nishapur. Mohammad Ghaffari, who received the title Kamal al-Molk from Naser al-Din Shah Qajar, was born in Kashan and studied painting at Dar al-Fonun school in Tehran. Naser al-Din Shah discovered his talent during a visit to Dar al-Fonun, and thus Mohammad Ghaffari went to the Qajar court. He painted 170 valuable paintings for the Qajars, but it was after painting the Hall of Mirrors that he earned the title Kamal al-Molk. Hooshang Seyhoun beautifully designed the tomb of Kamal al-Molk in 1958, harmonizing it with the tomb of Attar. Above Kamal al-Molk's grave, you can see a relief of him. The tomb of Attar of Nishapur, which is close by, is also located there.

Attar was one of the famous poets and mystics of the 6th and 7th centuries AH, born near Nishapur. He is one of the most beloved and prolific Iranian poets with worldwide fame.

Farid al-Din Abu Hamid Mohammad Attar of Nishapur, known as Sheikh Attar of Nishapur, was a famous Iranian poet and mystic of the 6th and 7th centuries AH.
