The holy shrine of Seyyed Alaeddin Hossein, located near the Shah Cheragh shrine, has always hosted pilgrims and lovers of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them). Seyyed Alaeddin Hossein, also known as Little Hossein, is the paternal brother of Shah Cheragh and one of the prominent figures in Islamic history. He was on his way to visit Imam Reza (peace be upon him) in Mashhad when he was martyred midway in the city of Shiraz.
After his martyrdom, the people of Shiraz, out of respect, buried his pure body next to the Shah Cheragh shrine. Many pilgrims come to this place to pay their respects to Seyyed Alaeddin Hossein (peace be upon him).
