Description

Imamzadeh Eshaq is also known as the resting place of the Fourteen Infallibles, with its construction history dating back to the 8th or 9th century AH. It is one of the religious sites in Tehran with high popularity. Imam Eshaq is considered one of the descendants of Imam Musa Kazim who was killed along with Ismail ibn Zakaria. The tombstone of this Imam's shrine contains inscriptions in beautiful Nastaliq script and is gray in color.

The shrine area is less than thirty square meters. Previously, by order of the Endowment Organization, this Imamzadeh was only open on Thursdays for prayer and visitation, and for this reason, it was always very crowded due to many visitors. Nowadays, it is open for prayer and visitation every day of the week except holidays.
