Description

Imamzadeh Seyyed Mohammad Reza is a descendant of the fourth Shia Imam who, according to a narration, was martyred while fleeing from the ruling government at the time. He is six generations away from Imam Sajjad, and his tomb is about 200 years old.

The sacred shrine of Imamzadeh Seyyed Mohammad Reza (peace be upon him) is located in the Miandeh Kon neighborhood, below Kon Road on Ahmad Kashani Street; in the Brothers Alley after the Seyyed Mohammad Reza Hosseiniyeh. However, due to the traditional and old texture of this neighborhood, access to it is somewhat difficult and challenging without the guidance of local people.

The shrine of Imamzadeh Seyyed Mohammad Reza (peace be upon him) is situated in the Lasht Nashad district of Rasht County, in the city of Lasht Nashad, adjacent to the market. This mausoleum covers about 3,500 square meters of land and is surrounded by a cemetery. The martyrs' cemetery of this city is also located next to this shrine.

The building of the mausoleum of Agha Seyyed Mohammad Reza is old, but no historical inscription indicating its age was seen on the building itself. Rabino writes that the construction of this sacred place was completed in the year 1055 AH, during the reign of Shah Abbas II. The date inscription at the entrance shows this date, but according to locals, this inscription has been destroyed and a new entrance has been built in its place. There was no trace of the date inscription. The caretaker of the shrine recalled two verses of poetry above the entrance, the last hemistich of which was the date inscription as follows:

Darvazeh Saqi ke namayan va jali ast

Abadi an ze sarnevesht azli ast

Tarikh benayash ze khard jostam goft

Ey taq jali zamin Abbasqoli ast

The date inscription hemistich with the year 1055 AH mentioned by Rabino corresponds. The word "Saqi" in the first hemistich refers to the Saqi of the shrine, which was the old name of the place of Seyyed Mohammad Reza's mausoleum. Abdolfattah refers to it as (Sahra-ye Saqi Mazar Lasht Nashad). Rabino writes that this place was known as Saqi Mazar, and Seyyed Zahiruddin also mentioned this name in the history of Gilan and Deylamestan. However, the author did not find the name Saqi Mazar in Seyyed Zahiruddin's history.
