The building of Imamzadeh Qasem Shemiran dates back to the Safavid era and is also known by other names such as Imamzadeh Qasem Tehran, Imamzadeh Qasem Tajrish, Imamzadeh Qasem Golabdarreh, and Imamzadeh Qasem Darband. The name of this neighborhood changed from Dezh Olya to Imamzadeh Qasem after the burial of Hazrat Qasem ibn al-Hasan Zaid Mojtaba (peace be upon him), a descendant of Imam Hasan Mojtaba (peace be upon him), in the 3rd century AH.
