The Tabriz Fire Tower is the first step in the development of firefighting across the entire country and, according to many, was for many years the English model for building fire towers in their country. More than 100 years after the construction of this tower, it still stands and is recognized as one of the tourist attractions of Tabriz.
This tower is a relic from the Qajar era and, with its height of 23 meters, is known as the first and most important step in the development of firefighting throughout the country. In the past, a person was stationed at the top of the Tabriz Fire Tower and monitored the city through 8 skylights located at the top of the tower. As soon as this person saw fire in the city, they would ring the bell at the top of the tower to start firefighting operations. The historical significance and very important function of this structure led to the registration of the Tabriz Fire Tower on the list of national monuments of Iran in 1998.
The Firefighting Museum: It is only 700 meters away from the Fire Tower and can be reached within a 10-minute walk. In this museum, you can see a unique collection of firefighting equipment from the past to the present.
