The Seyed Mohammad Najafi Mosque, previously known among locals as the Saman Sara Mosque, is a sacred shrine in the beautiful city of Anzali and a suitable place for the grief and sorrow of the people. He is from the pure lineage of the Prophet of Islam and a descendant of Imam Hussein (AS). The spiritual and eternal life of the master will always hold a special place in the hearts of his devotees and admirers.
His honorable father, the late Ayatollah Seyed Hossein Hosseini Badkoubeh, who was one of the great and famous teachers of the Najaf Ashraf seminary, taught him the preliminary and advanced lessons. He lived in Najaf Ashraf until the age of 30, then went to Iran and settled in Bandar Anzali, spending his fruitful life there teaching seminary sciences and promoting religious rulings. According to Ayatollah Milani, one of the most prominent figures related to the country's seminaries, if Ayatollah Seyed Mohammad Najafi had stayed in Qom, he would have been listed among the grand maraji' of emulation.
Finally, at the age of 82, he passed away to the kingdom of God. His body was buried in the "Samanser" Mosque of Ghazian Anzali, which was later named after him.
