Amir Kalaye International Wetland
The north of Lahijan is one of the most touristic areas of the city. The jewel of this part of Lahijan is undoubtedly the Amir Kalaye International Wetland, also known as Shaleh Kal, which is both one of the sightseeing places in Lahijan and one of the valuable freshwater wetlands in Iran. This wetland has formed at a depth of about 2 meters of water and covers an area of 1230 hectares.
Shaleh Kal welcomes thousands of different species of birds and fish throughout the four seasons of the year, which live in this wetland during certain months. White water lilies along with sea pistachios, known as "Sa'leh" in Lahijan, have doubled the beauty of this wetland alongside its animal diversity.
