The Sarkharud Protected Bird Area or Sarkharud Wetland is located in the Vaza neighborhood of Sarkharud and 6 kilometers west of Fereydunkenar. This wetland is artificial and man-made and since 2007, in late autumn and winter, it hosts migratory birds from the Siberian region. A large number of noisy migratory swans, known as singing or screaming swans, can be seen in this wetland. The winter residents of Sarkharud Wetland include the garganey, greylag goose, small geese, flamingo, crane, shovelers, mute swan, little swan, great white egret, and wild ducks.
