Hormuz is an Iranian island in the Persian Gulf, located 8 kilometers from Bandar Abbas. This oval-shaped island, with an area of over 42 square kilometers, is situated near the Strait of Hormuz and is one of the tourist destinations in southern Iran. The city of Hormuz, located in the north of the island, is the only populated point on the island. The most well-known attraction of Hormuz Island is the Rainbow Valley, which is covered with more than seventy different color shades. The variety of stones and minerals has made Hormuz a potential capacity for geological tourism.
