Dizmar Forest is one of the most pristine natural attractions in Iran, located near the Arasbaran (Qara Dagh) region. The Arasbaran forests are also one of the world’s biosphere reserves, highly important to all humanity due to their rich biodiversity and abundant nature.
Dizmar Forest is also known as "Varzeqan Forest" because of its proximity to Varzeqan and is considered one of the best sightseeing spots in Varzeqan. The main features of this forest include stunning natural landscapes, diverse plant and animal species, a mild climate, and numerous natural springs.
Besides the Aras River, six permanent rivers named "Alanghe Chay", "Mardanaqom", "Gholan", "Ishtobin", "Delan Sara", and "Masan Chay" flow through the protected Dizmar area. Some parts of this forest are difficult to access and require professional equipment to pass; however, the accessible parts of Dizmar Forest are suitable for camping, nature photography, forest hiking, and day picnics.
