Zayandeh Rud Dam
is built in Chadegan. This dam, formerly known as Shah Abbas the Great Dam, was commissioned in 1970. The objectives of the dam construction include producing 250 million kilowatt-hours of hydroelectric power annually, controlling seasonal floods, regulating irrigation water needed for 100,000 hectares of Isfahan plain lands, and supplying water required by industries located in Isfahan. Currently, this dam is considered one of the tourist attractions of Chadegan.
