Avidar or Abidar Dam and Lake of Nowshahr

The Abidar Dam or Avidar is located near Sisangan Park and is about five kilometers from the sea. The earthen Abidar Dam and its lake are situated in a mountainous and lush area. This lake was formed after the construction of the Salah al-Din Kola earthen dam.

The elevation of the Abidar Dam lake from sea level is 125 meters and its area is about 38 hectares. This area has a very cool and pleasant climate, which has made this place one of the summer resorts for the people of Nowshahr. Abidar is always host to many travelers and tourists in spring and summer; of course, this area is also very beautiful and attractive in autumn.

The Abidar lake has many recreational and welfare facilities that make visiting enjoyable for tourists. Recreational facilities at the Abidar Dam lake include fishing, horseback riding, boating, cycling, water sports, amusement park, village tours, bird watching, and photography. Welfare facilities in this area include restaurants, gazebos, traditional dining rooms, cafes, supermarkets, gazebos, prayer rooms, and restrooms.
