Mashhad is nestled among the Binalud and Hezar Masjed mountain ranges, which has made many of the nearby attractions such as the Arghavan Valley in Mashhad have pristine and stunning nature; Kardeh Dam near the village of Al is a short distance from Mashhad and hosts those who want to get away from the city's hustle and bustle and find peace in nature. Kardeh Dam has water all year round and depicts a view of the towering mountains. The water capacity of this dam is over 36 million cubic meters and accordingly has been able to supply a large part of the region's water.
This concrete dam has two symmetrical arches with a height of 67 meters and a crest length of 144 meters. Interestingly, the capacity of this dam was 44 million cubic meters in the past, which has gradually decreased.
