The second underground and historical city of Iran, Tasmejan, is located in Sefid Shahr and probably dates back to the 5th and 6th centuries AH. It has multiple spaces on several levels, some parts and objects discovered in this underground city are displayed in various museums. So far, two excavation seasons have been conducted in the Tasmejan underground city. The path ahead for excavation in this complex was facilitated in 2017 through the efforts of Dr. Seyed Mohammad Sadatnejad and the Sefid Shahr Cultural Heritage Enthusiasts Association, especially by negotiating with the owners of this complex to endow their buildings to this association.
