Sultan Begum Mansion
The Sultan Begum Mansion is one of Tehran's sights with a history of 150 years, dating back to the Qajar era. This mansion belonged to Mrs. Sultan Begum Shojaei, a relative of Naser al-Din Shah, and has been passed down through the years. The unique architecture of the mansion and the elements used in this building are so delightful that its Mirror Room and library are among the most important and remarkable libraries in the world.
This amazing building, now known as the "Bazaar House Museum," has a tumultuous history.
Begum Shojaei transferred this magnificent mansion in 1933 to one of her children named Taghi Shojaei. Shojaei then sold it in 1947 to the "Nirnama" family. The tasteful and insightful Nirnama family, despite renovating and restoring this house, do not touch the Mirror Hall and the pool house, citing the preservation of cultural heritage and its valuable artifacts as the reason.
Interestingly, Master "Shahram Nazeri" rented here with his family for two years and received one of his valuable instruments as a gift from the Nirnama family during that time!
