Description

The Portuguese Castle is one of the sights of Qeshm and Hormuz that is not listed among the natural attractions of Qeshm; however, it is truly spectacular. The construction of this castle dates back to the time of the Portuguese presence on Hormuz Island. They used the red soil of the island to build the castle. Additionally, the Portuguese incorporated Iranian architecture in the construction of this castle.

Among the spaces in the Portuguese Castle are an armory, a water reservoir, and multiple halls.

The Portuguese Castle is built on the seashore. After leaving the castle, with some attention, you can probably see seabirds such as pelicans and cormorants on this beach.
