Another sightseeing place in Mashhad located on Navvab Safavi Street is the Abbasqoli Khan Seminary. This historic school was built in 1034 SH, during the Safavid era, by Abbasqoli Khan Beyglarbeygi, whose name you can see on the historic inscription above the school's entrance. The architecture of this magnificent school is one of the masterpieces of brick architecture in our country, which you can hardly find its equivalent anywhere else in Iran. The impressive muqarnas work, artistic tile work, and simple yet beautiful cells are among the most important decorations used in this historic building.
The Abbasqoli Khan School was registered on the National Heritage List of Iran on July 17, 1978.
