Babol Grand Mosque is one of the sights of Babol in one of the oldest neighborhoods of the city and is considered one of Iran's national monuments. According to the history of Tabaristan, the age of this mosque dates back to 160 AH and it has been renovated in different periods, especially during the Safavid era. During the reign of Fath-Ali Shah Qajar, this building was destroyed by an earthquake and rebuilt. The mosque has two entrances in the east and west, each connected to a vestibule, and above them, verses and phrases are written on tile bricks dated 1230 AH. Inside the mosque, there are also two mihrabs with new tile work and an old mihrab partially ruined.
