Description

Sheikh Al-Molouk Mosque is one of the tourist attractions of Malayer, known as the Malayer Grand Mosque. This mosque is a Qajar era monument located in the Malayer bazaar area. From the entrance of the Sheikh Al-Molouk bazaar, a historical inscription above the door of the Malayer Grand Mosque catches your attention. The inscription indicates that the mosque was built in 1226 AH by Sheikh Al-Molouk (the ninth son of Fath-Ali Shah Qajar, Sheikh Ali Mirza, known as Sheikh Al-Molouk). During the Qajar period, Sheikh Ali Mirza was the ruler of Malayer and Tuyserkan for 26 years. The architectural style of the Malayer Grand Mosque, while simple, is unique and reminiscent of Qajar buildings. The Malayer Grand Mosque previously had two prayer halls with different ages and construction styles, which have been replaced by a new style hall.
