Description

Makki Grand Mosque

The symbol of Zahedan's grandeur at first glance at the Makki Grand Mosque, you might mistake this mosque for the Sultan Ahmed Mosque in Istanbul. The Makki Grand Mosque is one of the most important tourist attractions in Zahedan, which undoubtedly most travelers visit. The architecture of the grand mosque is so extraordinary and astonishing that describing the beauty of this mosque is truly difficult!

In 1974, the Makki Grand Mosque was built by Mawlana Abdul Aziz with a 600 square meter area. The original building of the Makki Grand Mosque in the most upscale area of Zahedan had two minarets with a height of 37 meters, which after years underwent changes. The first phase of renovation of the Makki Grand Mosque was done in 1991 and the second phase of restoration in 2011.
