In 1974, the Makki Grand Mosque was built by Mawlana Abdul Aziz with a 600 square meter area. The original building of the Makki Grand Mosque in the most upscale area of Zahedan had two minarets with a height of 37 meters, which after years underwent changes. The first phase of renovation of the Makki Grand Mosque was done in 1991 and the second phase of restoration in 2011.
