In the year 1304 of the Solar Hijri calendar, Mohammad Ali Naseri Heydarabadi built a mosque in the traditional southern Iranian architectural style in the center of Bandar Abbas. This mosque had a roof made of sandalwood (chandal) imported from India. The interior of the mosque is adorned with beautiful stucco work dating back to the Qajar era. Naseri Mosque was renovated and restored in 1386.
