Description

Another one of Amol's sights is a Safavid-era tomb called Mashhad Mir Bozorg. According to genealogies, Seyyed Ghavam al-Din Marashi, known as Mir Bozorg, is buried here.

Most likely, this tomb was used not only as a place of worship but also for teaching religious sciences. Over the years, the building has suffered much damage and its tile work has been lost.

The introduction board of Mashhad Mir Bozorg states that Shah Abbas Safavid was a descendant of Mir Bozorg's daughter and for this reason ordered a suitable tomb to be built for him.
