Bales Kuh Protected Area is one of the tourist attractions of Tonekabon and one of the pristine and untouched natural areas of Mazandaran Province and Tonekabon County. In this protected area, important animal species such as maral, rabbit, chukar, leopard, wolf, brown bear, mouflon, goat, common fox, jackal, and wild boar live. Among the birds that nest in this protected area, one can mention various larks, common redstart, wood pigeon, woodpecker, forest eagle, and hoopoe. The presence of these tourist species and the beautiful nature of this area, which is one of the sights of Tonekabon, has actually turned Bales Kuh Protected Area into a beautiful place with high biodiversity.
