Time Museum, a stroll through times that have stood still
The Time Museum or Time Viewing Place is set up in one of the historic houses of Tehran in the Zaferanieh neighborhood. The house itself, with its colors, lights, and plasterwork, is a museum of Iranian architectural art.
This museum opened in June 1999 and has been listed among Iran's national heritage sites. As its name suggests, everything you see in this museum is connected to time, and you can see various clocks and time-measuring devices, including donations from Iranian artists, in this Time Museum.
The remarkable building of the Time Museum is an 80-year-old mansion from the Qajar era, which alone is considered one of Tehran's sights. A mansion with delicate plasterwork and soft colors that gives visitors the atmosphere of the past. Among the exhibits of the Tehran Time Museum are the spring-driven clock, oil clock, candle clock, and a collection of various old European clocks, some of which belonged to important people like politicians.
