Ebrat Museum, bitter but real of what has passed
Tehran's sightseeing places are not always supposed to be beautiful and soul-soothing. Sometimes, it is necessary for your heart to ache a little to see what happened to our predecessors and what was going on in history. At the Ebrat Museum, you are going to see exactly these things. Here, your heart might ache a little; you may feel sad or angry, but whatever it is, it is a narrative of the days this land and its people have witnessed.
The modern Ebrat Museum was actually a torture center during the Pahlavi era, where SAVAK tortured so-called saboteurs and regime opponents. This museum is one of the dark tourism destinations.
The Ebrat Museum has eleven different sections including the guard officer's room, prisoners' clothing storage, photography studio, general and solitary cells, dressing room, torture chambers, prisoners' meeting place, Pahlavi introduction and weapons room, prisoners' memorials and souvenirs, prison chief's room, and other sights such as the torture yard.
