Iran Money Museum
This museum is especially for money lovers! Jokes aside, the Money Museum is not only worth seeing because of the coins and objects inside it, but the building itself is one of the sights of Tehran that you absolutely should not miss. This building was famous as the Dofineh Building; nowadays, the name Sardar Asemani is seen on its facade. Before the revolution, the Dofineh Building was commissioned by a private owner to be turned into a supermarket. After the revolution, this building became owned by the Mostazafan Foundation. Finally, after years of renovation, restoration, and changes, it was reopened in Esfand 1399 (March 2021). The Sardar Asemani Building (formerly Dofineh) has three sections. The first section is the Money and Coin Museum, which displays about 1,200 coins for public viewing. The Museum of Gems and Historical Ornaments, showcasing 900 valuable items, is located on the second floor. Finally, the Museum of Islamic and Global Arts, which includes the Mostazafan Foundation's treasury, is also part of the museum. This treasury is displayed for the first time in this museum.
